Bai Jing Ting’s latest drama Mobius has just dropped six stills featuring the Chinese actor in his role as Ding Qi.
He stars in the upcoming sci-fi thriller alongside Janice Man and Song Yang, but it is Bai Jing Ting who is front-and-center in the latest stills, which were released on the official Mobius Weibo account right before character stills were dropped for all the C-drama’s main characters.
The account also commented:
The loop restarts, five fate reversals. Gaming the system to break the cycle, piecing together the fragments of truth.
Mobius is an upcoming supernatural mystery/sci-fi thriller, which is 16 episodes in length and due to stream on iQIYI.
It is directed by Liu Zhang Mu, based on the novel “Ni Shi Zhen Cha Zu” (逆时侦查组) by Zhang Xiao Mao, and with a pretty unique plot, especially for a Chinese drama:
A bank bombing breaks the tranquility of Huaao City.
Police officer Ding Qi (played by Bai Jing Ting) stands at the tragic explosion scene but is unusually calm. Because he knows that this is not the “final ending” but a “cycle day”, as the world randomly enters five consecutive cycles, going back to the previous day at zero o’clock.
Ordinary people will not feel it, but Ding Qi relies on his time loop perception to repeatedly solve strange cases.
New cycles begin again and again, and strange things appear one after another: many executives of a genetic research group die one after another, accompanied by a mysterious squid murder warning, and a series of frequent accidents…
Under the seemingly mechanical repetitive daily life, a strange conspiracy gradually emerges.
The premiere date for Mobius has not yet been announced, but is likely to be soon.
