What’s the opening theme song for ‘The Inescapable’ C-drama? Who sings it?

Michelle Topham March 11, 2026

The Inescapable poster C drama

Just in case you fell in love with the incredibly pretty opening theme song for C-drama ‘The Inescapable‘ (aka 锁簪) as much as I did, you may just be pulling your hair out trying to figure out what the song is called, who sings it, and where you can listen to it?

Because, let’s face it, it can be a real bitch to find the theme songs of not-so-popular Chinese dramas if you don’t speak Chinese.

Thankfully for you, and for me, after a little bit of research on Baidu, I managed to track down ‘The Inescapable‘ opening theme song and its singer to YouTube where a Taiwanese channel has recently uploaded it. (Listen below)

C drama The Inescapablel OST

‘I Look Back Down the Long Street‘ by Zhang Bei Bei

The track was officially released on March 5th, 2026 is called ‘我于长街回首’ or ‘I Look Back Down the Long Street‘, and is performed by Zhang Bei Bei (the male singer, not the female actress).

The song is composed by Sun Chang Lei, with lyrics by Xing Pai, and its lyrics in English look like this:

Your name is the song within my heart
That remains forever unsung.
To have held you close was my greatest joy;
Yet alas, fate weaves a path of countless twists and turns.
We were destined never to share this world together;
Vows turned to dust, yet remain impossible to relinquish.
I gaze upon the teeming multitudes of this fleeting life—
It is but a transient dream, a brief slumber.
In the end, only tears remain, drifting coldly in the air.
Alas, time is ever prone to tearing things apart,
Granting us separation with no hope of reunion.
You are—both love and entanglement.
A bright moon hangs in the sky, its light tender and soft;
I walk the long street, turning back to look with every step.
Your silhouette remains frozen in that late autumn moment—
And my tears flow ceaselessly.
Of all things in this world, love is the hardest to fathom;
I sigh—for time has grown thin and frail.
I dare not hope any longer that you might turn back;
Let regret itself become the enduring romance.
A bright moon hangs in the sky, its light tender and soft;
I walk the long street, turning back to look with every step.
Your silhouette remains frozen in that late autumn moment—
And my tears flow ceaselessly.
Of all things in this world, love is the hardest to fathom;
I sigh—for time has grown thin and frail.
I dare not hope any longer that you might turn back;
Let regret itself become the enduring romance.

Sadly, at least as of yet, ‘我于长街回首’ does not appear to have been officially released on Spotify or western streaming services (or on YouTube legally).

I will update that information here if it eventually has, as I do prefer to listen to a legal version where possible as it helps the singer, don’t you?

Keep checking back to Michelle Topham, and I guess we will see.

The Inescapable, which is a very fun watch by the way, stars Guan Yue, Yang Yu Bin, and Fu Rou Mei Qi, and is currently streaming on WeTV.
