Upcoming Chinese historical mystery romance drama Pursuit of Jade (aka Zhu Yu) has just dropped its 2-day countdown poster as the C-drama heads for premiere on March 6th.
The poster came with a comment about the visual:
A gentle touch in the palm of their hands, two people stay together, navigating the long journey of life.
Pursuit of Jade has a stellar cast
As you will likely remember, Pursuit of Jade stars Tian Xi Wei and Zhang Ling He, and has one of the most interesting casts I have seen in a while as it includes Snow Kong, Deng Kai (loved him in the mini-drama The Maid), Li Qing, Yan Yi Kuan and Yu Zhong Li.
Now, I have to admit, while I love the supporting cast, I am not a huge fan of having Tian Xi Wei as another female lead.
Not because I don’t like the actress, but because I detested her annoying princess character in Guardians of the Dafeng and, unfortunately, that idiotic woman has stuck with me ever since.
Thus, tainting my view of Tian Xi Wei in Moonlit Reunion and in the the previously released Wrong Carriage, Right Groom, both of which I recently watched.
Funny how that sometimes happens, isn’t it?
But, Zhang Ling He has been one of my faves since he played Xie Wei in Story of Kunning Palace and Shao Cang in Love’s Rebellion, so it is worth seeing if I can get the awful princess out of my head for good when Pursuit of Jade drops on March 6th, right?
(Update: March 18th – I did because, Holy Moley, Tian Xi Wei is incredible in this).
Pursuit of Jade will be streaming on WeTV, iQIYI and Netflix starting March 8th, depending on your region.
It is also likely to be a massive success as, a week ago, the Chinese drama had already earned a combined 7 million reservations on Tencent Video and iQIYI in China alone.
(Update, April, 2026 – Pursuit of Jade is now officially the most popular C-drama to stream on iQIYI this year, and one of the most popular on Tencent, so there’s that).
