To no surprise to me or anyone else who is watching the absolutely superb Chinese drama Pursuit of Jade, the Zhang Ling He and Tian Xi Wei-led series is now officially one of the biggest hits of 2026 — on both Tencent Video and iQIYI in China, and on international streaming platforms.
That was proven yesterday when both Tencent and iQIYI’s social media announced that the C-drama had officially hit one of the highest levels it is possible to reach on their respective heat indexes.
Tencent commented about Pursuit of Jade‘s new record on their platform:

Entering the Hit Club! Breaking the record for the highest-grossing drama on Tencent Video in 2026! The whole family is watching this sweeter-than-candied-hawthorn berry drama.
Meanwhile, Pursuit of Jade exceeded 10,000 on iQIYI, which means it is a massive hit on that platform as well, although dramas can go even higher.

I will also point out that Pursuit of Jade is also one of the easiest Chinese dramas to watch this year if you are non-Chinese as, unlike many C-dramas that only stream on Chinese services, this one is streaming on both WeTV and iQIYI, as well as on Netflix.
The first 17 episodes of the 40-episode drama are now available to watch with two more new ones dropping daily.
And, yes, I recommend it even for people who haven’t watched many Chinese dramas as everything about the series from its plot to its characters to its design is beautifully accessible. Enjoy.
