15 The Litchi Road posters have 15 characters transporting lychees across China and they’re stunning!

The LItchi Road

I am in absolute awe of the visuals that have been released for the ongoing Chinese black comedy drama The Litchi Road, as they have been some of the prettiest graphics I have seen from a C-drama this year.

Case in point, Tencent Video just dropped 15 new The Litchi Road character posters in a series they are calling ‘Give It All‘ in which we see 15 of the C-drama’s main and supporting characters giving their all with a fresh lychee that has been hollowed out.

On the inside of the lychee, we can then see each character, in miniature, on a horse transporting lychee across China.

All of them are incredibly cleverly designed, while the characters themselves also pop right off the page.

The latest The Litchi Road posters came with the message:

Transporting lychees over 5,000 li is perilous; human hearts are unpredictable in this game of schemes.

The transportation challenge continues—what unforeseen surprises and trials lie ahead on the long road forward? @Lei Jiayin @Yue Yunpeng @Nar Naxi @An RanVivienne @Lü Liang @Gong Lei @Feng Jiayi @Lu Fangsheng @Zhao Wei @Lu Cai @Yan Biguo @Zhou Meijun @Han Qinghot @Zheng Wei @Wang Yizhou (with the Weibo links to each actor’s Weibo account).

Tune into The Litchi Road every night at 19:30 on @Tencent Video for more thrilling episodes!

Enjoy the new visuals and, like Tencent asks you to do, you really should head to WeTV and give the drama a shot.

I am currently only four episodes in but, so far, it is a funny, sad, and touching black comedy that gives an insight into what it must have been like working as a minor official in ancient China, and being at the whim of your colleagues, superiors and, of course, the Emperor.

Something that, if you weren’t careful, could lead to your early death.

The Litchi Road is also one of the few WeTV dramas that has an English dub.

Sure, the voice actors are not the greatest, and they do have strong Chinese accents but, if you’re not a fan of Mandarin Chinese (personally, I think it’s the coolest-sounding language, but up to you), it’s an option.

Either way, though, if you enjoy a Chinese drama that is beautifully written and acted, with gorgeous cinematography, and really quite unique, The Litchi Road checks all those boxes.

And we think we have it bad if our boss sends us out to pick up lunch, eh?
