I have a feeling the upcoming Chinese crime thriller In the Name of Justice is likely to be premiering soon, as promotional pieces are starting to hit left and right.
Today’s visuals, which came out via the official YOUKU Weibo account, are In the Name of Justice character posters that were released earlier this morning — with nine posters in all covering the lead actors, and some of the main supporting cast.
They follow on from the new poster featuring all three main characters that dropped yesterday, and were released with the message:
“Wielding the blade of justice to purge corruption,
Guarding the light of the law with unshakable conviction.”
YOUKU then listed the main actor and several of the supporting and guest star cast.
Zhang Yi, Li Guang Jie, Jiang Xin, Liu Jia, Feng Jia Yi, Ding Yong Dai, Yang Shuo, Shi Jing Ming, and Wang Jin Song unite to defend the unbreakable line of justice.
The Chinese drama is co-directed by Fu Dong Yu and Zheng Shi Long, and is partially based on a true story.
It follows three Haizhou City prosecutors who, after being involved in a major organized crime case, discover some of the “evidence” doesn’t make sense.
The three then work together in an attempt to bring down a major criminal syndicate.
In the Name of Justice is a more gritty drama than some Chinese drama fans like but, if you enjoyed 2022’s Being a Hero starring Wang Yi Bo and Chen Xiao, which was also directed by Fu Dong Yu, this one seems to be in a similar vein.
I will keep you updated when information about its premiere date on YOUKU is announced.
Update: In the Name of Justice will premiere on YOUKU on June 24th, 2025. A new celebratory visual was also released as it has already exceeded over 1.5 million reservations.
