I will just say it has been a helluva good year for Chinese actress Song Zuer so far, and we are only in June.
After all, after being accused of tax evasion and then found to not be guilty, she has already had two hit films drop back-to-back this year — The Demon Hunter’s Romance and The Prisoner of Beauty, and now followed next week by a third potential hit — Created in China.
Created in China officially got its premiere date via Tencent’s Weibo account this morning, and it’s coming very soon — June 17th, 2025 as a Tencent (WeTV) exclusive.

Along with the premiere date, we also got the official Created in China character visuals dropping, (see below), with Tencent commenting about the C-drama:
Use precision tests to measure the future, and respond to the times with a sincere heart. A sailboat about manufacturing is about to set sail!
Tencent also commented about the C-drama’s plot:
Assembled and ready for action! From sketches to blueprints, from bottlenecks to breakthroughs—this manufacturing revolution drama is about to ignite your passion!
Yep, if you like a modern-day C-drama, with loads of business shenanigans, that sounds exciting, doesn’t it?

Now read the Chinese drama’s plot synopsis and join me in deciding “Hell, I am all in for this”.
Returning from abroad, private entrepreneur Liu Jun (played by Zhang Xincheng) reconciles with his estranged best friend Qian Hongming (Wang Yanlin). Together, they support each other’s ambitions—until a fallout over technology with the shrewd Lin Yue (Zhu Yuchen) turns them into rivals.
Facing material monopolies, factory fires, and environmental crises, Liu Jun battles through sheer grit to evolve from a skilled manufacturer to a visionary leader.
Meanwhile, a blind date arranged by his father Liu Shitang (Ren Chengwei) introduces him to Cui Bingbing (Song Zuer), a sharp-witted bank loan officer. Their chemistry sparks a whirlwind romance, culminating in marriage.
Now juggling domestic adaptation and business warfare, Liu Jun combines technical mastery and idealism to:
Revolutionize his struggling factory
Outmaneuver industry giants
Secure China’s manufacturing future

I think it will be a nice change to see Song Zuer in a modern-day drama – her first since Legally Romance — and, of course, to welcome back Zhang Xin Cheng after he did such a great job in You Are My Lover Friend.
Created in China cast and staff
The Chinese business-themed drama is being directed by Li Xue (Nirvana in Fire — so you know this one should be good) and Zhao Shuo, and is written by Ming Da Cheng.
Song Zu Er stars along with Zhang Xin Cheng (Justice in the Dark), along with a stellar supporting cast that includes Wang Yan Lin (Pegasus), Ren Cheng Wei (Faith Makes Great), Zhang Yue (Echo of Her Voice), He Yu Hong (Delicious Romance), Liu Yi Tie (The Long Season), Wang Ying Lu (I Am Nobody), Zhou Tie Nan, and Wu Chao (Mr. Bad).

The Chinese drama also includes special appearances from Gao Lu (Six Sisters), Zhu Yu Chen (Hanging Mirrors), Liu Yi Jun (Guardians of the Dafeng), Liu Jun (Romance in the Alley), and Li Jia Hang (Faithful).
The guest stars are also excellent, as they include Wang Kai (Flight to You), Yang Cai Yu (Ode to Joy), Yang Shuo (Dream City), Lian Lian (Genuine Heroes), and Wu Yu Fang (Double Happiness).

Created in China is produced by Daylight Entertainment (Nirvana in Fire, Like a Flowing River).
It is based on the A Nai novel (Ode to Joy, All Is Well) so, if you are looking for fascinating, with a helluva lot of power dynamics and backstabbing, this one is for you! And me!

Created in China will drop on Tencent/WeTV on June 17th and, damn, that means I have four Chinese dramas to finish watching this weekend, so I can start bingeing.
How about you?
