The long-awaited youth romance drama Our Generation is about to kick off on July 14th, so fans’ excitement is currently very high.
Let’s face it, the C-drama features a banger of a young cast, with Zhao Jin Mai and Zhang Ling He as the main leads, and Ma Qi Yue, Jeremy Zuo, Hu Jia Xin, Bao Jian Feng, Dong Xuan and Dong Jie in supporting roles.
It’s also directed by Zhang Kai Zhou, who did a brilliant job with The Story of Ming Lan, the second season of Ode to Joy, and the family drama The Bond, and written by Zeng Lu, who also wrote The Story of Ming Lan, so this one should be excellent.
In anticipation, YOUKU has released 10 Our Generation character visuals of every character today, from Lin Qi Le (played by Zhao Jin Mai) and Jiang Qiao Xi (Zhang Ling He) to all of the main supporting characters — along with confirming the Chinese drama’s release date.

As for the Our Generation plot, it follows the childhood friendship of Lin Qi Le (nickname Cherry) a girl who is always happy and optimistic, and gloomy and non-communicative Jiang Qiao Xi, a boy whose experience with family life seems to have tainted his very existence.
Of course, the pair’s childhood friendship grows into romance as they grow older, but can their relationship survive what’s likely to come?
And can Cherry’s upbeat personality have a positive impact on Qiao Xi?
Where is C-drama Our Generation streaming?
Unfortunately for international fans, Our Generation will not be streaming on YOUKU international.
Instead, due to licensing restrictions (whatever that means?) it is being split up onto different platforms, and likely different release times, depending on where you live.
In my region, Europe (Austria), Our Generation will be streaming on Viki. In many Asian regions it will be on Viu. In others, it has been licensed to Netflix.

That’s why you will have to check all your region’s streaming sources to see where it will end up as, unfortunately, just like with its international licensing of a number of YOUKU dramas over the last couple of years, the platform has put the requirement of its Chinese subscribers over those outside China.
