The Arthur Chen and Wang Ying Lu-led Chinese drama When Destiny Brings the Demon premiered on YOUKU earlier today and has already hit 6500 on the heat index. (Update – August 17th: The C-drama has now hit 8000 — check out the cute poster that dropped in celebration down below).
That means it’s still a ways away from the 10000 it needs to grab to be called “a success” but, considering the C-drama passed the 6500 milestone just hours after its first three episodes dropped, things are looking very positive for it indeed.
Along with the announcement of When Destiny Brings the Demon exceeding 6500, YOUKU also released a visual of the two main leads and commented:

When Destiny Brings the Demon also exceeded 6000 on the YOUKU heat index a few hours before that right after it dropped, with YOUKU releasing another new and very cute poster to celebrate (above).
With that, they commented about the Chinese drama’s plot:
Aloof master Sima Jiao (@éé£å®Arthur) meets the shrewd disciple Liao Ting Yan (@ēå½±ē_), and they instantly become hilarious workplace buddies.
The Chinese drama also seems to have been well-released by international viewers so far, with comments on various Asian drama-focused websites, where millions of Asian drama fans congregate, being extremely positive.
When Destiny Brings the Demon stars the previously mentioned Arthur Chen (aka Chen Fei Yu) and Wang Ying Lu, and tells the story of Liao Ting Yan, who suddenly finds herself transported from the modern world to an ancient cultivation world where she is quickly chosen as one of 100 disciples who will serve Sima Jiao, the Lord of Mercy.
Things aren’t what they initially seem, however, as Sima Jiao has been trapped in a mountain cave for 500 years, and is now scheming to escape.
Unfortunately, approximately 99 of the disciples also have their own schemes going on. And none of them mean Sima Jiao will end up the winner.
