While we don’t have an official release date for Bai Lu’s new historical mystery thriller Unveil: Jadewind yet, the C-drama itself has already grabbed more than 1 million reservations via YOUKU in China.
That announcement came out earlier this morning with a celebratory visual featuring Bai Lu as protagonist Li Pei Yi.
YOUKU also commented about the poster and the drama’s reservation news (drama known as Tang Palace Mystery: Mist in the Wind in China):

Of course, nobody who follows Bai Lu’s career is remotely surprised Unveil: Jadewind already has so many reservations. (and is it just me who hates that non-descript title?)
After all, just about everything the 30-year-old Chinese actress acts in nowadays is a big success.

Look at Feud, her most recent release, and an average wuxia drama at best. But one that still had her character Li Qing Wue earning more than half a billion character popularity points last week.
So, yep, my only surprise about Unveil: Jadewind (in which she co-stars with 23-year-old Wang Xing Yue) is it hasn’t earned more reservations than that.
Especially as Wang Xing Yue, whose first C-drama was a supporting role in 2020’s You Complete Me, is just about as popular after his celebrated main role in The Double.
Although, of course, those even larger numbers of reservations will be coming before the Chinese drama’s premiere date is announced. Stay tuned.
