The life-themed Chinese drama Live Up to Your Youth wrapped filming today, with iQIYI releasing photos from the wrap ceremony for seven of its main actors, including leads Bai Yu (Guardian), Zhang Ruo Nan (The First Frost), Jelly Lin (Footprints of Change), and Wang Yan Lin (Created in China).
iQIYI also commented on the atmosphere on the Live Up to Your Youth film set:

They also confirmed the C-drama’s directors (two of them) and screenwriters (also two of them), and the seven actors featured in the wrap photos as part of the cast.
A cast, I should add, that while it features the wonderful Bai Yu, also has several other top-notch performers that should make this one a must check out when it eventually hits streaming services.

As Chinese dramas and their promotion go, this one has traveled underneath the radar a little bit so far, not getting as much of a mention in C-drama news as others with even more high-profile actors do.
If you like a drama with a good ensemble cast featuring characters who are all desperate to achieve their dreams though, Live Up to Your Youth looks like it could be interesting. (I love that cast too, don’t you!!??)
The Live Up to Your Dreams plot is officially explained like this:
Set in Beijing from the 1990s to the new millennium, this series follows the struggles and growth of five young drifters living in a small guest house — Xu Shengli, Zhuang Zhuang, Shen Ranran, Tao Liangliang, and Cao Ye — as they pursue their artistic dreams.
The characters chase their aspirations in fields like film production and music performance, yet repeatedly face real-world challenges: Xu Shengli’s scripts are constantly rejected, Shen Ranran struggles to land leading roles due to typecasting, and Zhuang Zhuang grapples with confusion while trying to break through in music.
As they step into the 21st century, though, their life paths diverge, yet they all share an enduring passion and unwavering pursuit of art.

Honestly, it’s nice every time we get a Chinese drama that isn’t a wuxia (not that I don’t love those too!), and that looks like it has some meat to it as well, isn’t it?
