YOUKU has just released The Immortal Ascension‘s 3-day Countdown Poster as the Chinese cultivation drama premieres on July 27th.
The latest promo piece for the Chinese drama (and, yes, YOUKU has been dropping them thick and fast) features male lead Yang Yang as Han Li holding a dagger.
Viewers of the massively successful donghua A Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality will recognize one of his iconic poses.
The poster came with a message from YOUKU that says:
#3 day countdown to the broadcast of The Immortal Ascension#
The countdown has begun! Fellow Taoists, pack your bags quickly and prepare to set off with Han Li (@杨洋).
The journey of cultivating immortals is about to begin! Starting from 12:00 (Beijing Time) on July 27th, the drama will be exclusively broadcast on YOUKU. Please stay tuned!
You can also reserve The Immortal Ascension on YOUKU now if you’re in China (not available in the west, no idea why?).
Something that over 4 million Chinese have already done so, yep, this one is likely to be a big success.

Although, Yang Yang definitely carries a lot of weight on his shoulders as, if his portrayal of Han Li isn’t up to par for fans of the donghua, I can guarantee you they will make sure there is hell to pay.
