Yin Tao, director of the wuxia thriller Blood River turns 43-years-old today and, in response, YOUKU has released a very nice visual of the Chinese director directing the upcoming Blood River.

The Chinese drama Blood River stars Gong Jun, Peng Xiao Ran, Chang Hua Sen, Yang Yu Tong, Kong Xue Er, and Zhang Shi An.
No announcement has yet been made about the premiere date of Blood River, but rumor has it we can expect to see it dropping on YOUKU soon.
Fingers crossed, as I am a huge fan of the Dark River donghua series, so already very excited to see what the live action drama is able to accomplish with the same characters and a similar plot.
As for director Yin Tao, he has a fair number of extremely successful C-dramas under his belt already, including the recent Love of the Divine Tree, as well as Destined, The Blood of Youth, Who Rules the World, Ancient Love Poetry and Love and Redemption.
In other words, Blood River is very likely to be one of the best Chinese dramas of 2025 if Yin Tao’s previous work is anything to go by.
