It has been more than five years since the Cheng Yi and Li Yi Tong drama Sword and Beloved got its first posters. Yep, five freakin’ YEARS.
And this week, we finally got word the Chinese drama is getting a release, and one that’s coming up fast — October 25th, to be exact.
In celebration of Sword and Beloved‘s premiere date, even producer and distributor iQIYI seemed excited as they Weibo-d out an absolute slew of character visuals from the drama, for everyone from the two leads to supporting actors Guo Jun Chen, Fan Ming, and Chang Hua Sen.
Sword and Beloved character visuals, I might add, that are pretty damned cool.
Those visuals were dropped in three separate posts, with the first two – for Cheng Yi and Li Yi Tong – confirming the October 25th premiere, and coming with the message:
The world is boundless, hold the sword and guard the heart.
The next set featured Sword and Beloved character visuals for Guo Jun Chen, Ken Chang, Tan Kai, and Fan Ming, and came with the comment:
The sword breaks the dust and traverses the world.
Finally, the last nine — Chang Hua Sen, Zhang Kai Ying, He Ru Xian, Tong Meng Shi, Jia Nai Na, Wang Hong Yi, Mao Xiao Hui, Celina Jade and Yam Yun Jing — warranted the following message:
When the sword rings, the group portraits begin a glorious chapter.
All told, iQIYI wants us to know this one is likely to be pretty freakin’ epic.
