I always think it’s fabulous how well Chinese production companies promote their upcoming dramas right before they premiere.
Case in point, a slew of very cool looking billboards that appeared at Guangzhou Zhujiang New Town Metro Station in Guangzhou, China this week to promote the upcoming C-drama The Wanted Detective.
Each of the vibrant billboards feature one of the C-drama’s main cast — (full list of actors featured below).
Photos of the billboards were uploaded to iQIYI’s Weibo account this morning, with a message saying:
#The Wanted Detective# #iQIYI Exclusive# is here!
Let’s meet the “BoBo Squad” at Guangzhou Zhujiang New Town Metro Station~
“The youths assemble, clearing the clouds to see the sun”.

Meanwhile, rumblings about the Chinese drama itself have been saying The Wanted Detective will be premiering on iQIYI on August 1st. (Update: The drama has been confirmed as premiering on August 1st).
That has not been confirmed by the Chinese streaming service but, as they have announced they will be releasing a trailer and new posters tomorrow, with all this recent promotional activity, it is very likely we will be seeing the mystery thriller dropping very very soon.

iQIYI also announced yesterday that The Wanted Detective has exceeded 1 million reservations so far.
So yep, it’s sounding as though this may be yet another big success for iQIYI, and the drama’s director, cast and crew.
