As a massive fan of Xianxia dramas, I am thrilled to report the Chinese cosmic romance-fantasy adventure ‘Love Travels Through Time‘, starring Li Hongyi and Yang Yutong, has officially wrapped up its filming today.
Now, I’m not a particular fan of Li Hongyi, as he is an actor who seems to think having the same facial expression in every one of his dramas is the way to go.
But, let’s see how well he does with this one when it eventually drops, eh? After all, he is a competent actor and he could surprise.
Yang Yutong, on the other hand, after her performance in Sword and Fairy 1, sign me up for anything she appears in as she’s just so darned cute.
Along with the announcement of an end to filming, wrap ceremony photos of all the cast were released earlier today along with the comment:

Love Travels Through Time production details
The Chinese drama is based on the popular web novel ‘Chuan Yue Xiu Xian De Die Hui Lai Jie Wo Le‘ ( in Chinese 穿越修仙的爹回来接我了), which was written by Qiao Jia Xiao Qiao (乔家小桥).
The YOUKU-produced drama is directed by Li Hongyu (Word of Honor), with screenplay written by Wang Ruoke (Back from the Brink).
It stars Li Hongyi (The Blood of Youth), and Yang Yutong (Sword and Fairy 1), with its main cast comprising Tu Zhiying (Millenium Heart), Zhang Shian (Love Me, Love My Voice), Zuo Chenyi in his debut, Li Xinze (The Blood of Youth), Tian Yu (Nv Zong Cai Gong Lve Shou Ce), and Gao Jiayan in her debut.
Its supporting cast includes Chen Guo (Back from the Brink), and Zhou Xiaochuan (Guardians of the Dafeng).
The drama also features special appearances from Yu Yi (Snow Eagle Lord), and Hu Chunyang (Blossoms in Adversity), and guest stars Zhang Meng (The Double), Zuo Ye (Fangs of Fortune), Clara Lee (The Seven Relics of Ill Omen), Che Baoluo and Xue Bayi (Dashing Youth).
Love Travels Through Time plot
As for the Love Travels Through Time plot that, to me, is what makes this the most interesting, as its premise is pretty new:
The son of the Shanhai Clan’s leader, Zhujiu Yin—Yin Changli (played by Li Hongyi)—is cursed with a love calamity.
Believing outsiders are unbound by fate, he accepts a request from Xiang Heng (Yu Yi), lord of Silver Sand City, to retrieve his daughter Xiang Haikui (Yang Yutong) from another world.
But there’s a catch:
Haikui, a stranger to this realm, cannot survive alone.
Changli promises to reunite her with her father—in exchange for signing an exploitative “employment contract”.
Thus begins their cosmic entanglement:
Yin Changli: The last heir of the Shanhai Clan, his innocence long lost to vengeance.
Xiang Haikui: A girl seeking her father, unaware she’s the linchpin to shattering the world’s “order.”
Together, they embark on a journey across the cosmos—where romance clashes with rebellion, and destiny is rewritten.
The drama’s production also appears to be very high quality, which is one of the reasons why many Chinese drama fans have already reserved it on YOUKU.
