A new romantic When Destiny Brings the Demon poster was dropped on YOUKU’s Weibo account this morning.
This time to promote the romance in the Chinese drama, which sort of kicks off at the end of Episode 13 when leads Sima Jiao (played by Arthur Chen) and Liao Ting Yan (Wang Ying Lu) finally kiss. Well, kind of.
The lovely new poster, which is a scene from Episode 15, came with a comment about the romance between the pair from YOUKU, which simply says:
The warmth of an embrace, only you truly understand, on the path to happiness~ 👖 I’ve been completely captivated by this iconic scene for 999 minutes—come and experience it too!
At 12 PM every day, #献鱼# (aka When Destiny Brings the Demon) is heating up on YouKu—don’t miss out!
Now personally, while the performances are still excellent, I think the writing in When Destiny Brings the Demon has stagnated over the last couple of episodes (Episodes 13 and 14), so we are now in the situation where the plot hasn’t moved forward much.
Instead we have more of the same — ie: Sima Jiao fighting against both the 8 Palaces and Shin Qian Lv, and not exactly winning, as his enemies continue to hatch plot after plot in an attempt to kill him.
And while the romance we are all expecting hasn’t really kicked off yet. At least up to Episode 13.
From trailers of Episode 15 and 16, though, and that lovely poster up above, it appears that is about to change. Hallelujah!
With 20 more episodes still to air as well, we still have plenty of time for the writing in the drama to begin to move the plot forward more. Fingers crossed.
But… at least we got a tiny bit of potential romance in Episode 13, eh?
