PLOT
In the bustling city of Guangping, humans and demons coexist. The demons excel at concealing their true forms, disguising themselves as humans without being detected.
Ban Xia (played by Song Zu Er), the daughter of a wealthy family, possesses a peculiar pair of eyes that often allow her to see shadows others cannot perceive. Because of this, no matter how well-behaved, obedient, or rule-abiding she is, people still whisper behind her back, calling her “mad.”
When Ban Xia exposes her cousin’s wife as a demon, it draws a deadly pursuit, leading her to cross paths with the demon hunter Xuan Ye (played by Allen Ren). And soon, a gentle kiss from Xuan Ye on Ban Xia’s eyes opens her vision completely to the world where humans and demons coexist.
As they work together to investigate a series of strange occurrences in Guangping—such as the rejuvenating Jade Pear, the life-exchanging Nine-Lives Cat, and the time-loop within the “Guangping Spring Dawn Painting”—their bond grows increasingly close.
However, the secret burden Xuan Ye carries repeatedly pushes Ban Xia away, as he gradually realizes that despite being a demon hunter, he himself may very well be a demon.
