Strange Chronicles of Tang is Season 4 of the Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty series
Six character stills for the upcoming C-drama Strange Chronicles of Tang have been released by iQIYI as the series itself premieres tomorrow — December 17th, 2025.
As you can probably guess, the Strange Chronicles of Tang stills are for the characters of the six lead actors we have been following now for more than three years — Yang Xu Wen who plays Lu Ling Feng, Yang Zhi Gang who is Su Wu Ming, Gao Si Wen who plays Pei Xi Jun, Chen Chuang who is Fei Ying Jun, Sun Xue Ning who is Chu Ying Tao, and Anson Shi who is Xue Huan.
The drama itself is Season 4 of the Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty series, and is releasing less than a month after Season 3 – Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty 3: To Changan – ended its run.
Interestingly too, this one is completely different than the first three seasons of the historical mystery series as, instead of 40 episodes of 45 minutes each, we are getting a 21-episode series of episodes that run for 21 minutes each.
And no, I have no idea why the title of the Chinese drama has been changed from Strange Tales of… to Strange Chronicles of.. You will have to ask the production committee about that one, as it’s mightily strange.
Not that I am complaining as, with Christmas coming up, it is still nice to have a new C-drama you don’t have to commit enormous amounts of your time to just to finish before the holiday season hits, isn’t it?
Look out for Strange Chronicles of Tang releasing its first episodes on iQIYI tomorrow. Until then, enjoy the character stills that, just like the franchise itself, are beautifully filmed.
