New The Long Way Back character posters have dropped as the Chinese historical war-themed drama premieres in four days.
The Long Way Back character posters, which give us a good look at the art style of the upcoming drama, were released on Tencent’s Weibo account, and came with a message from Tencent Video that says:
Amid the mottled shadows and light, resolute faces reflect an indomitable will. The anti-Japanese united forces soldiers have always carried a sincere devotion to defending their homeland.

The Chinese drama stars Hu Jun, Li Nai Wen, Chen Jing Ke, Mabel Yuan, Ren Bin and Song Jia Teng.
It tells the story of members of the Anti-Japanese Forces in the winter of 1937 who, after the Japanese Kwantung Army launch the “Three Rivers Crusade” against the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army, are separated from the main force.
The C-drama follows their struggle as they traverse dangerous and Japanese-invaded land in an attempt to regroup with their comrades and continue their fight against the invading army.
The drama was originally said to run for 34 episodes, but is now currently labelled as airing for 26 episodes.

The C-drama itself premieres on Tencent Video in China on April 25th. We are still awaiting word, however, as to if it will be released internationally on WeTV. (Update: It has been).
Meanwhile, it has already earned more than 1 million pre-orders on Tencent Video in China.
Fingers crossed because, as someone who is appalled by the horrendous treatment the Chinese and Koreans were subjected to under Japanese occupation (and can understand the animosity both the Chinese and Koreans still feel towards the Japanese because of it), this one sounds fascinating.
