It is Chinese actor Liu Xue Yi’s 35th birthday today, which is why streaming platforms all over China and in the west have been dropping Happy Birthday posters using graphics from Chinese dramas he has already starred in, or will be doing soon.
One of those posters came from Tencent earlier today.
It features a still from Liu Xue Yi’s latest Tencent drama — The Princess’s Gambit — (see above) along with the birthday message:

Another Happy Birthday poster was also dropped by Tencent earlier in the day featuring a still from Liu Xue Yi’s upcoming historical romance drama Against the Current, which will be another Tencent Video exclusive for the Chinese actor when it releases.
And yep, rumor has it we will be seeing this one premiere some time this year. (Love that hat and opulent costumer too, don’t you?)

The message dropping with that simply says:

Not wanting to be left behind by the Chinese-run accounts, Tencent’s international platform WeTV also released posters congratulating the birthday boy.
This time, they feature stills from four of the actor’s dramas currently streaming on WeTV — The Princess’s Gambit, Unshakeable Faith, Ancient Love Poetry, and his yet-to-be-released new historical drama Against the Current.
And yep, as you will notice, they got the ‘birthday’ bit of their Happy Birthday message a bit backwards, but it is the thought that counts, right?
Now, this is just a very small selection of the many birthday posters released for Liu Xue Yi’s 35th birthday. As, let’s face it, he is a very popular actor within the C-drama industry, and with fans. Enjoy!
And then, of course, head off to watch any of the actor’s dramas you haven’t already seen because, as Chinese actors go, along with several others, like similarly-aged Liu Yu Ning and Hou Ming Hao, Liu Xue Yi is currently one of his generation’s best.
