We are now just three days in since Chinese modern-day romance drama Second Chance Romance premiered to 6,500 on the YOUKU heat index and, as of this morning, the C-drama has now climbed to 7,500.
Of course, another poster was release to celebrate, as it wouldn’t be another day in YOUKU promotions if it wasn’t.
Not that I’m complaining you understand, as Chinese production companies really do create some stunning visuals, don’t they?
This time the new Second Chance Romance poster features female lead Qin Lan, who plays ballet dancer Tan Si Ting opposite Wallace Chung‘s single father and former lover Fen Rui.
The 28-episode drama only has eight episodes out on YOUKU for VIP subscribers so far, and Episode 9 available for TVOD payers, so there are still plenty of episodes to release that should help Second Chance Romance climb even higher up the index than this.
Fingers crossed, right?
Update, December 25th: Sadly, I am here to report that this is as far as Second Chance Romance got before viewers started tuning out, and a couple of weeks before the contemporary Chinese romance drama was awarded an abysmally low 5.2 out of 10 on Douban.
Yep, I hate to say it, as this was one of the romance dramas I was most looking forward to this year, it wasn’t the director or the cast that screwed this one, but the terribly-written, going nowhere script.
