He Peng’s acting career so far
He Peng was born in Henan, China on August 12th, 1989, and as a young adult attended the Beijing Film Academy.
He got his start in the entertainment business in a supporting role in the 2018 drama Give Me a Chick at 18.
He has since had a supporting role in the hit series The Untamed in a brilliant performance as the villain Wen Chao, and in dramas like Forward Forever, Crimson River, Please Feel at Ease Mr. Ling, Falling Into Your Smile, The Old Dreams, and Youth in the Flames of War.
He has also had main roles in Zhao Jia Di (both seasons) and Under the Moonlight.
And yep, when I saw the full Against the Current cast list, my eyes lit up when his name popped up as, even though I hated the man with every cell in my body, his portrayal of super villain Wen Chao in BL drama The Untamed was one of the standout performances of the entire thing.
We have no word yet, though, on whether He Peng’s Yuan Shao Hui is villainess or something else?
What I love about him too is, unlike Wen Chao, in real life He Peng seems to be a supremely sweet and humble guy.
Watch the cute video below as He Peng talks about his role in The Untamed, and that becomes pretty obvious fast. Just look how self-deprecating and smiley he is!
