With Chinese drama Feud due to drop on iQIYI on Friday, June 6th, the promo pieces are now hitting thick and fast.
After a slew of posters featuring stars Bai Lu and Zeng Shun Xi, as well as stills and character posters of all the main cast arriving earlier in the week, it’s now the turn of the C-drama’s male lead Zeng Shun Xi (aka Joseph Zeng).
Today, the 27-year-old Chinese actor costumed as Bai Jiusi, the character he plays in Feud, got nine utterly gorgeous visuals released from what is being called a “Golden Flower Field Photoshoot”. (below)
In each of the stylized and incredibly vibrant visuals, Zeng Shun Xi perfectly embodies Bai Jiusi the Great Mystic Sage.
And all I can say is, Ye Gods, if you thought Zeng Shun Xi was beautiful before, just look at him now, eh?
The visuals arrived with the message:
Deep courtyard, falling red leaves; the sword remains unbroken, yet the heart has rusted.
When eyes lower, every rise and fall in the wine cup is you.
Is this desperate game, scorched by love and hatred then frozen over, fate’s cruel jest—or our final chapter?
Feud stars Bai Lu, Zeng Shunxi, He Ruixian, and Chen Xinhai, and is due to premiere on iQIYI on June 6th.
It is co-directed by Zhi Lei (智磊) (The Legend of White Snake and Guo Hao (国浩) (Scent of Time).
The C-drama was co-written by two screenwriters who have also recently had extremely popular dramas air.
They are Zhao Na whose The Demon Hunter’s Romance was another big iQIYI hit last month, and Ren Yanan who had a big hit with The Double in 2024.
With the directorial talent, and the writing talent on this C-drama, I am fully expecting Feud to be one of the best of 2025, aren’t you?
Throw in the spectacular visuals that have been dropping over the last few weeks and, if nothing else, it appears we will get a visual feast at least.
