6,000 means ‘moderate success’ so far
The Li Hong Yi, Su Xiao Tong and Yu Cheng En-led mystery drama Treasure at Dawn has exceeded 6,000 on YOUKU’s heat index, three days after its first episodes premiered. Thus, making it a moderate success on the platform so far.
As always, YOUKU released a visual celebrating the Chinese drama’s achievement. This time featuring all three leads who are obviously mulling over a clue they have discovered.
YOUKU also made a statement about the historical thriller:
Frequent bizarre cases, mind-bending warning! Is the real culprit human or ghost?
Following on from yesterday’s stills release, we also got three more stills today (below) — one for each of the main leads.

Treasure at Dawn is a surprisingly good drama
As I have said in previous posts, so far Treasure at Dawn is turning out to be a surprisingly fun watch, so it’s not a shock then that the C-drama is climbing up the heat index.
It’s more down-to-earth than other similar historical dramas, so we don’t really have to contend with excessively whitened skin via too strong filters, or clothing that is so ridiculously elegant it would be better suited to a member of the emperor’s family than a local doctor or a street con artist.
Instead, what we get is a drama that visually seems to belong in the world of a lower to middle-class citizen during that era, with cinematography and set design that beautifully express that world.
The mystery series also features strong performances from all three leads, who have superb chemistry together, and with solid performances from a roster of seasoned supporting actors that include Yu Xiang, Wang Zi Xuan, Zhong Lei, Jian Kang and Tian Lei Xi.

Its plot too is nicely written with events unfolding in a believable way, and with the main characters’ reactions to them also understandable and not silly.
Throw in that the humor actually hits, and that the OST is pretty, and it’s not a stretch to expect Treasure at Dawn to climb quite a bit higher than 6,000 before it’s done.
Watch the Chinese drama’s first nine episodes on YOUKU where it is currently at #1 on the platform’s ‘Trending Dramas’ list.
