Hou Ming Hao stars in second wuxia of 2025
It’s apparently just me who is tired of seeing Chinese actor Hou Ming Hao starring in yet another cookie-cutter wuxia drama.
At least if his latest venture The Unclouded Soul is anything to go by.
After all, according to iQIYI, Hou Ming Hao and Tan Song Yun’s The Unclouded Soul has just passed 1.5 million pre-orders on their streaming platform just a couple of days before the Chinese drama premieres.
So that’s at least 1.5 million people who apparently don’t mind the 28-year-0ld actor is starring in yet another wuxia drama with a similar plot to the others. And one they’ll probably forget about as soon as it ends.
I mean, honestly, how do you even keep these wuxia dramas apart as he even looks and dresses the same in half of them?

The 40-episode The Unclouded Soul itself premieres on December 27th and, yep, as much as I complain, I will probably be watching it along with the rest of you.
After all, this one not only stars Hou Ming Hao who, even if his dramas are often “more of the same”, I do like, but also features the wonderful Wang Duo in a support role and I am a big, big, big, fan of that man, aren’t you?

Look out for Hou Ming Hao’s latest wuxia then dropping on iQIYI on Saturday.
After all, I have a feeling it may be overshadowed by Ming Hao’s also still streaming Love in the Clouds, which earned a big audience both internationally and in China.
Who knows. It may not be as bland as I expect, right?
