Chang Long turns 36-years-old
If you are pretty new to the world of Chinese dramas, you may still recognize actor Chang Long from his superb performance as Nan Rui in last year’s transmigration romance drama A Dream Within a Dream.
One of 2025’s best C-dramas, in my obsessed opinion, and one of the standout performances of the year as well.
If so, you will also recognize Chang Long in the poster iQIYI has just released to celebrate the actor’s 36th birthday.
A poster that features the incredibly talent artist in his role as Yuwen Hong Tao in the upcoming historical romance Love in Red Dust.
A drama he stars in alongside Wang Xing Yue (Unveil: Jadewind) and Xu Ruo Han (The Best Thing), and with iQIYI wishing him a happy birthday earlier today with a comment about his role in it:

There is no word yet on when Love in Red Dust will premiere, but Chinese netizens are abuzz about the 34 episode series being scheduled for some time in 2026. We’ll see then, eh?
Chang Long’s career so far
I must admit, I hadn’t taken that much notice of Chang Long myself until he appeared as Shi Zi in the first season of the comedy drama Hilarious Family in 2023.
Since then, I have deliberately watched several of his previous dramas (including Springs of Life and The Bond), as I enjoyed his performance so much.
Since Hilarious Family, he has stood out in Romance on the Farm, Love’s Rebellion and, of course, in his superb 2025 performances in A Dream Within a Dream, as Wang Ying Lu’s brother Shen Shao Jie in Yummy Yummy Yummy, and in Season 2 of Hilarious Family, but this time as Ruan Ling.
He also had a supporting role in this year’s No Pain No Gain, and is due to play supporting roles in The Lament of Autumn and The Legend of Lu Xiao Feng (which has a phenomenal cast that includes Gong Jun, Riley Wang and Zheng Ye Cheng), and will likely release in 2027.
So yep, you could say Chang Long is eternally busy, which may not leave him a huge amount of time to celebrate his special day then, eh?
Hopefully that isn’t the case, and I wish a Happy Birthday to the now-36-year-old actor anyway. Especially as he has been such a joy to watch over the last year, let’s hope then that his performances over the next year are as equally superb.
