The Chinese youth romance drama Dazzling (aka 耀眼) has not only finally announced its official main cast, but has also begun filming this week in Weihai, Shandong.
The filming is currently set to take two months to complete, and will incorporate local Weihai landmarks, such as the stunning coastal highway, and historic buildings.
That main cast is Guan Xiaotong (Mr. and Mrs. Chen), Li Yunrui (Blossom), and Yao Jing Yuan (The Way Home).
The 36-episode drama is adapted from the novel Yao Yan (耀眼) by Shi Jiu Yuan (时玖远).
It is being directed by Zhu Dongning (Millenium Heart), and is written by Liu Fei (My Little Happiness).
The Chinese drama will air on Hunan TV and Mango TV when it drops.
The Dazzling plot
Chinese entertainment news media is describing the C-drama’s plot like this:
Dazzling revolves around a complex and captivating emotional storyline, following a mathematical prodigy burdened with family secrets (played by Guan Xiaotong) and a sincere yet rough-around-the-edges motorcycle shop owner (Li Yunrui).
Due to a sudden inheritance dispute, the two are forced into a legally binding sibling relationship—a twist that adds layers of suspense and drama.
As they navigate mutual suspicion and clashes, they gradually heal each other’s wounds, blending intellectual rivalry with heartwarming everyday moments.

Chinese media has also reported that both main actors have spent many hours of their time preparing for and researching their roles.
In Li Yunrui’s case, the 28-year-old actor spent two weeks working in a motorcycle repair shop as he wanted to appear completely authentic in his role, while Guan Xiaotong researched behavioral psychology literature.
That way, the 27-year-old actress felt she would be better able understand her genius character’s inner world.
Leaked photos on Weibo have arrived on X showing the two actors working together and, yep, Li Yunrui has dyed his hair for some scenes in this role.
There is no word yet on when C-drama Dazzling will begin airing, but it will likely be well into 2026 before it drops.
I will give you a heads up as more information about that is released.
