Legend of the Magnate continues its climb
The historical industry-themed C-drama Legend of the Magnate premiered its first episodes on November 25th, and has been quietly increasing its heat index score ever since.
That score climbed to a new all-time high today, with Legend of the Magnate crossing the 8,000 barrier on iQIYI’s heat index — meaning, with 9,000 being classified as a major success, at 8,000 the Chen Xiao and Sun Qian-led drama is now an official success.
iQIYI released a poster of the leads along with several supporting cast members — (from left to right, Huang Zhi Zhong, Luo Yi Zhou, Chen Xiao, Sun Qian, Cheng Gai Shen and Li Chun) — and also spoke about its plot:

Along with its high heat index score, Legend of the Magnate is also currently one of iQIYI’s Top 10 dramas.
It has 12 of its 40 episodes out on the streaming platform so far, with new episodes releasing every day through December 13th when it officially ends.
International ratings for Legend of the Magnate
Meanwhile, the Chinese drama is performing well with international viewers, with My Drama List users currently awarding it a solid 8.1 out of 10.
iQIYI subscribers are also rating the C-drama high, with a 9.7 out of 10 on that platform so far.

IMDB trolls are proving again, however, how useless that site is for anyone who wants a reputable rating system, as the 12 people who have rated Legend of the Magnate so far have awarded the superb C-drama an ignorantly low average of 5.1 out of 10.
And yes, likely due to a character in the drama saying/doing something that “offended” them, or an actor they don’t like.
In other words, never take anything IMDB puts out as reputable as, sadly, those days are long gone by, and it is doubtful they will ever be back.
