With 3 episodes out, Love and Crown already heading up the heat index
Well, this is promising news for the just-kicked off Chinese drama Love and Crown, which premiered its first three episodes today (four if you’re willing to pay for TVOD), and quickly grabbed 6,500 on the platform’s heat index.
Not a massive score (this is how the YOUKU heat index scoring works, and what is deemed as “incredibly successful”), but not a bad score for an historical romance drama in the first throws of its angst. As I’m sure this one will soon get to.
Love and Crown stars Allen Ren (aka Ren Jia Lun) of The Demon Hunter’s Romance alongside Peng Xiao Ran (Blood River‘s Mu Yu Mo), and is scheduled to run for 35 episodes in total.
The Chinese drama garnering 6,500 also got YOUKU releasing another pretty poster featuring the leads in celebration, which is always a bonus.
And a comment about the beginnings of the Love and Crown plot:
#Love and Crown Popularity Exceeds 6500#
The premiere was a huge hit! Did everyone get to drink the wedding wine of Xiao Huan (aka Ren Jia Lun) and Ling Cangcang (Peng Xiao Ran)?
This power struggle between the emperor and empress is absolutely captivating.
Check out Love and Crown on YOUKU now.
Sadly for me, though, all I can do here is report what the streaming service is announcing about the drama for at least the next week, as I am still working my way through Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty 3, Fight for Love, the last four episodes of Blood River, the short crime thriller Ji Dong Zu, another new Yang Xu Wen drama Double Track Puzzle, Fated Hearts, and the supernatural C-drama The Seven Relics of Ill Omen.
And that doesn’t include the anime and the donghua that’s causing me to lose sleep. Help? Anyone?!
