PLOT
Mei Zuyu (played by Xu Kai), a celestial master from Changxi Palace, is dedicated to eradicating all evil spirits in the world and safeguarding the peace of the mortal realm.
After successfully assuming the role of chief officer in the Xuanjian Department, he meets the seemingly frivolous and unrestrained noblewoman—the Second Lady of the Duke of Yu’s residence, Qinghe County Magistrate Wu Zhen.
However, beneath Wu Zhen’s (played by Tian Xi Wei) carefree and charming exterior lies the hidden identity of the Cat Lord. Having inherited supernatural powers after a perilous encounter in her childhood, she often transforms at night to enter the demon market and rule over myriad demons.
Initially, the two engage in a tug-of-war, testing and probing each other. Gradually, they come to understand one another, growing mutually attracted and drawing closer. Ultimately, they join forces to confront the sinister conspiracies of demons and the unfathomable schemes of humans in Chang’an City, working together to protect the peace between the human and demon realms.
