Silent Honor exceeds 8,000 on heat index – Chinese political drama is an interesting watch

Silent honor exceeds 8000 on heat index featuring Yu He Wei and Wu Yue

Ongoing political war-themed drama Silent Honor premiered on September 30th and now, almost two weeks in, I am happy to report the Chinese drama has finally exceeded 8,000 on iQIYI’s heat index.

That milestone was reported by iQIYI this morning via their Weibo account, with the Chinese streaming service releasing a celebratory visual featuring lead actors Yu He Wei, Wu Yue, Vision Wei and Zeng Li, and commenting:

Joyful news arrives! #Silent Honor# hits 8000 on iQiyi’s popularity chart!

Classified reports keep pouring in, crises unfold one after another, and the fog envelops the isolated island — who is secretly setting an inescapable trap?

Tune in to @iQiyi daily at 19:30, as the show continues to climb new heights and unveil breathtaking new vistas!

Where to watch Chinese drama Silent Honor?

Now this one has been a bit of a pain to watch if you live in certain international regions.

Here in Europe, for instance, Silent Honor is not streaming on iQIYI.

That situation is one of the reasons I cancelled my iQIYI membership a couple of months ago, as a sizeable number of C-dramas I want to watch are not available on their platform but, instead, you have to pay extra to watch them on YouTube if you want access to them in a timely manner. Um… no.

It may, however, be available in your region?

The Chinese political drama is, however, available via iQIYI’s YouTube channel, but several episodes behind its streaming on iQIYI’s own platform, and with some episodes initially locked off for VIP subscribers only.

You can watch its first episode below and, yes, I do recommend it if you enjoy a good political thriller.

Sure, as you would likely expect with the drama covering events in Taiwan in the late 1940s and on, it is definitely CCP-oriented.

But, honestly, Silent Honor is no more “propaganda-filled” than the usual stuff coming out of countries like the United States. (Shrug)

Plus, for me at least, it is interesting to see the situation in Taiwan covered from a different viewpoint.
