Silent Tides premiere date postponed for 24 hours
After initially being scheduled to premiere on iQIYI today, the upcoming Chinese World War II-themed drama Silent Tides will now premiere tomorrow — December 9th, 2026 — instead.
That was announced with a new ‘Silent Tides Character Poster‘ dropping from iQIYI this morning. The poster features star Allen Ren (aka Ren Jia Lun), alongside co-stars Lan Ying Ying, Li Chun, Tan Kai and Ma Qi Yue.
The five pose in a business office that is obviously part of the transportation business He Xian (Allen Ren) operates, as a large ship can be seen outside the window.
The Chinese drama takes place at the beginning of World War II, with iQIYI commenting about the story:
The whistle has sounded, and the covert battle has begun!
Amid dramatic shifts and upheaval, they shed confusion and fear,
moving forward against the wind in a world of financial games!
Silent Tides is directed by Liu Jiang who also directed The Secret Path and Dreams and Glory.
He excels at directing historical dramas, and particularly those that have a patriotic theme, so I hold out great hope for this one.
Especially as it takes place in Macau during World War II, which is an area of the world I don’t know that much about when it comes to the Second World War, do you?
The C-drama also dropped a slew of striking character posters last week that feature nine of its main cast.
Look out for Silent Tides releasing its first episodes on iQIYI tomorrow.
