Yang Xu Wen, Yang Zhi Gang-led Cdrama heading our way this week
With 8 Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty 3 character stills dropping yesterday, it seemed to me like it might not be long before the Chinese drama itself got a premiere date.
As it turns out, that arrived today with iQIYI announcing the Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty 3: To Changan premiere date will be Thursday, November 8th, 2025.
Along with the welcome announcement as, let’s face it Strange Tales… is a very popular Chinese drama with millions of fans, iQIYI released a cast poster (above), and also made a mysterious comment about it plot.
Calling the Cdrama’s latest poster a “Chang’an Alley Exploration Poster”, they said:

Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty 3 earned its distribution license extremely quickly
Well, all I can say is I am beyond excited about the drama getting a premiere date so soon after it finished filming on May 29th this year.
C-drama’s often take forever to be released, with the average time from a drama wrapping to premiere being well over a year, and often quite a bit longer.
So that Strange Tales… has managed to get through complicated post-production work, and get a distribution license from the often picky National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) (aka 国家广播电视总局) in just over five months is superb news.
Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty: To Changan is scheduled for 40 episodes and will, again, stream exclusively on iQIYI.
It again, features one of Cdrama’s most popular ensemble casts — Yang Xu Wen, Yang Zhi Gang, Gao Si Wen, Chen Chuang and Sun Xue Ning.
Look out for its first episodes dropping on Saturday, November 8th on iQIYI.
And I don’t know about you, but even before Season 3 drops this week, I am already hoping we will be blessed with a Season 4, aren’t you?
