The iQIYI drama Pursuit of Jade ended its 40-episode run on March 26th, but it was today before the streaming service confirmed the C-drama has been a smash hit on the platform.
(Well, it was pretty obvious, at least to me, before today’s announcement due to the crazy high international ratings and the hundreds of thousands of positive comments on social media, but…)
That confirmation came in the form of yet another gorgeous visual featuring leads Zhang Ling He and Tian Xi Wei, this time fighting in battle side-by-side, along with the news the Chinese fantasy drama had officially exceeded 10,000 on iQIYI’s heat index.
Or, to be exact, Pursuit of Jade had climbed to 10,604 on the heat index.
Considering a score of 10,000 on iQIYI means any drama that hits it is one of the most successful the platform has released, to climb even beyond that means Pursuit of Jade is easily one of the most successful series on iQIYI in 2026 so far.

After climbing to 30,000 on Tencent Video early in its run as well, the C-drama even hit 31,000 soon after — meaning it was also an enormous success on Tencent Video too, as anything beyond 28,000 denotes a smash hit. (See Tencent’s celebratory visual below)

Pursuit of Jade on Netflix
The Chinese drama is also streaming internationally on Netflix where it has received an exceptionally good reception. (Chinese dramas don’t perform as well on Netflix as do K-dramas, for instance. I’m sorry to say, but they just don’t. So, when one does, it has received rare attention for the genre).
In the case of Pursuit of Jade, it climbed to #6 on last week’s Top 10 Most-Watched Non-English TV Shows chart last week, and is still sitting in the #8 spot this week.
My guess is, with the massive buzz it has been getting on social media, we will likely see it climb even higher than that next week.
The C-drama is currently in the Top 10 in nine countries, and earned 1.8M views this week alone.
Update, April 2nd: Yep, I was correct as Pursuit of Jade is now in its third week on the chart and, I am thrilled to report, is now in the #5 spot – a truly stellar performance for a C-drama on Netflix.
