Sword and Beloved grabs viewers’ attention in the barrage comments
Cheng Yi and Li Yi Tong‘s new wuxia drama Sword and Beloved has already exceeded 100 million barrage comments, with that milestone being reported by iQIYI this morning.
According to the Chinese streaming platform, Sword and Beloved is the fastest Cdrama to achieve that number, as it was able to do that in just the first three days of its streaming on the platform.
Now, personally I detest barrage comments — you know, those annoying things that stream across the screen on most Chinese streaming platforms as you’re trying to watch a drama. (Thankfully, you are able to turn them off with the flick of a switch).
But, for those Chinese drama fans who love watching their favorite shows and actors getting mass attention from other viewers, this will come as happy news.
iQIYI also reminded viewers “The sword is drawn, the story is in full swing” meaning, if you haven’t yet begun watching Sword and Beloved, now is the time as the Chinese romance drama already has 13 episodes out.

Other accolades for Sword and Beloved
And, if you love tracking how well a new Chinese drama is performing (I’m obsessed with it – just not by reading barrage comments!), Sword and Beloved is also earning other attention.
Its male lead, Cheng Yi’s performance as Wangquan Fu Gui, has already hit 800 million character points in just two days, and the drama itself has exceeded a very reputable 8,500 on iQIYI’s heat index so far.
Of course, with more than 20 episodes still to premiere, you can expect both those numbers to rise exponentially.
