Plot Synopsis
Our Generation begins in a close-knit community within a mountain construction site, where the spirited Lin Qi Le (nicknamed Cherry) grows up surrounded by a loving family and a tight group of friends.
Their world expands when the quiet and burdened Jiang Qiao Xi transfers to their school. Raised under the heavy shadow of his deceased older brother, Jiang Qiao Xi’s childhood lacks warmth until Lin Qi Le and her family welcome him in, forming a bond that becomes central to his life.
As the years pass, the friends inevitably drift apart, only to reunite during high school at a provincial experimental school. Here, they navigate academic pressures and adolescent rivalries together. However, just as their futures begin to take shape, Jiang Qiao Xi abruptly leaves for Hong Kong to care for an injured cousin, severing ties without explanation.
The story follows Lin Qi Le’s brave journey to find him and the rekindling of their relationship as young adults, exploring how they heal old wounds and forge a deeper connection. The narrative beautifully captures the bittersweet transition from the simplicity of childhood to the complicated realities of adulthood.
