Is anyone surprised that the new romantic drama Love’s Ambition released its first episodes yesterday, and has already exceeded 27,000 on Tencent Video’s heat index?
Or that it was the most popular premiere for a Chinese drama on Tencent in 2025 so far?
I know I’m not.
Not with mega-stars Zhao Lu Si and William Chan as the two leads, and not with the director being Chen Chang (As Beautiful as You and Nothing But You).
In fact, Love’s Ambition skyrocketed up the heat index yesterday, grabbing 24,000, 25,000, 26,000 and then onto 27,000 in a matter of minutes, with Tencent dropping celebratory visuals as each level was hit.
Along with releasing those (very cool looking) visuals (above and below), the Chinese streaming service also commented about Love’s Ambition‘s fast success:

Episodes 1 through 3 of Love’s Ambition are now streaming internationally on WeTV, with Episode 4 also available for those willing to pay for Tencent’s ‘Express’ service.
Otherwise, Episode 4 and 5 will premiere tomorrow.
