iQIYI has released a new set of A Dream Within a Dream character visuals right before the drama’s ‘Three-Court Trial’ begins in Episode 29.
The message that arrived with the visuals simply says:
Resentment can become the driving force for one’s progress—or the trigger for a descent into darkness!
With the “Joint Trial by Three Judicial Offices” imminent, will those present seize the chance to condemn and accuse, or will they find another way to lend a helping hand?
The nine new visuals feature all of our favorite characters, from Song Yi Meng (played by Li Yi Tong) as she contemplates how to save him and Nan Heng (Liu Yu NIng) as he plans his prison incarceration, to the awful Chu Gui Hong (Wang You Shuo) putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 19, and Prince Nan Rui (Chang Long) hoping his plan to pass the role of the crown prince onto his brother is successful.
We also get a visual of Song Yi Meng’s sister Song Yi Ting (Zhu Xu Dan), as she continues her plan to woo and marry the wonderful Shangguan He.
Shangguan He (Riley Wang) himself is also here, as he remains loyal to Nan Heng while also trying to figure out how to avoid marriage with Yi Ting (well, maybe!!??).
Prince Nan Hui’s long suffering and dead-pan-faced aid Ji Xi Ang (Song Ji Yang), Nightwalkers member and loyal Nan Heng aid Duan Shan Hu (Li Qing), and Chu Gui Hong’s equally horrible military commander Rong Hua (Li Dong He) also have character visuals.
The Three-Court Trial itself kicks off in A Dream Within a Dream, Episode 29 and culminates its results in Episode 30.
And let me just say, if you are looking for satisfaction in this ongoing (and absolutely superb) Chinese drama, these two episodes deliver it in spades.
