Love on the Turquoise Land doubles its pre-orders
We still have a couple of days before Dilraba Dilmurat and Chen Xing Xu’s thriller Love on the Turquoise Land finally premieres on Tencent Video and WeTV, but it’s already patently obvious this one should be hugely successful when it does.
That’s because, according to Tencent, after already earning 2 million pre-orders by the end of June, Love on the Turquoise Land has now doubled that to 4 million reservations, with three days still to go before its premiere.
A new poster featuring the Chinese drama’s two leads has been released to celebrate.
It shows Dilraba as sculptor Nie Jiu Luo, and Chen Xing Xu as the mysterious Yan Tuo sitting back-to-back in a darkened room.

Love on the Turquoise Land trailer does make the C-drama look creepily exciting
Love on the Turquoise Land is based on the Chinese novel “An Owl Rising from the Green Soil” (枭起青壤) by Wei Yu (尾鱼), with people who have read it saying it’s an exciting read.
Something that seems pretty obvious from the trailer as well.
Not particularly caring about Dilraba Dilmurat or Chen Xing Xu one way or the other (sorry, I find them both a bit bland – although I did enjoy Dilraba in Sword Rose), I was going to hold off on this one until all its episodes had been released.
But, if it does end up having the same creepy atmosphere and cool action as the trailer, it actually may end up being a must watch for me as well.
The Chinese supernatural thriller hits WeTV internationally on Saturday, November 22nd with its first few episodes, for a total of 32 episodes.
New episodes will then release seven days a week until its run ends. Likely some time around December 4th or 5th.
