It’s been almost five months since Zhang Ling He and Tian Xi Wei‘s upcoming fake marriage to true love drama aka Pursuit of Jade (or 逐玉) earned its first one million reservations on Tencent Video.
With a premiere date still not announced then, it was a nice surprise today when we got the announcement Pursuit of Jade has now passed 2 million reservations and counting, along with the obligatory poster.
When will the likely premiere of Pursuit of Jade be?
As for the C-drama’s premiere date, with it being a dual platform dramas, ie: scheduled to air on both Tencent and iQIYI, that can often make it more difficult for a series to find a premiere date, as both platforms must have slots available at the same time.
Current rumor out of China on social media/online forums is that Pursuit of Jade is not likely to premiere in 2025, but some time during the first quarter of 2026.
I checked with my sources, who are usually very reliable, and they also say the same thing — likely February or March, 2026. Sorry, I can’t be more precise for you than that.
Then again, with so many good romance dramas having dropped on both Tencent and iQIYI in the last couple of months — I’m talking about series like Yummy Yummy, Flying Up Without Disturb, Fight for Love, Light Beyond the Reed, Love’s Ambition, and Why Is He Still Single (my #1 Chinese romance drama of 2025) on WeTV, and Fated Hearts, Sword and Beloved, and Shadow Love, — it’s not like there is nothing else to watch, right?
Zhu Yu stars Zhang Ling He (Our Generation) and Tian Xi Wei (Moonlit Reunion) in the lead roles, with Snow Kong, Deng Kai, Li Qing, and Yu Zhong Li in supporting roles.
If its premiere date is suddenly announced as occurring in 2025 (honestly, not likely), I will let you know here on Michelle Topham.
Otherwise, look out for more information releasing about Pursuit of Jade some time in the new year. Fingers crossed, as I am usually all in for a good fake marriage to true love plot, aren’t you?
